Winter 2021

Welcome

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and are beginning the new year with challenging new goals.

It has been a very productive winter at House of Honor Books. December saw the release of two books by Jack LaFountain. Blood Moon is the second installment in the successful Ed Landry series, and Judgment the next Mann of God novel.

Meanwhile, Tracks and Bayou Moon are now on Audible and iTunes. Both are narrated by Cameron Buckner of Dixie Cryptid and What If It’s True podcasts. We have also contracted with Cameron to narrate Tokens of Perdition and Blood Moon.

Production of Judgment the second Mann of God novel is currently underway with Chris Tatum doing the narration and should be available on Audible by the end of February.

The future at House of Honor Books looks bright. We have contracted with a host of new authors for 2022. Be on the lookout for books by Rachel Roth, Keshia Willi, Rick Shaw, Cillian Dunne, Judy Snyder, Julia Yeoh, James Lewis Huss, and Ryan Stevens. Stop by Our Authors page for a sneak peek at their stories. More about those with projected winter release dates later.

We hope you enjoy this issue’s free story New Moon of Kentucky by Jack LaFountain.

New Moon of Kentucky

This issue’s featured story was written by Jack LaFountain. It is one of his first stories and was originally written for a collection of short stories that were never published. The original book was inspired by stories told by Jack and the group of men he served with while in the Philippines in 1974. On rainy nights huddled in the rear of their truck, they loved to indulge in weird, scary, and downright odd tales.

Many years later, Jack published one of the stories from the collection in an anthology entitled And Come Out Fighting, Tales of Guts and Glory. Now, he offers us a look at one more.
