Veterans Day

As a veteran, I can truly say God has been active in my life through all of it. Though I may not have known him, He was definitely answering momma’s prayers during my time of service. It wouldn’t be until later, much later, that I realized just how much He longed to have a relationship with me. Looking back at all the trouble I could have been or the pain I could have suffered, it makes me praise Him even more that He sought me out.

That’s why I decided to share my thoughts and devotions in A Dose of Light in a World of Darkness. God is passionately wanting a relationship with you as well. He loves you enough to die for you so that you too can be a child of the one true King. That’s what it’s all about, to be a son or daughter of a Holy God, and to spend eternity with Him in heaven.

I also shared it to encourage my fellow brothers and sisters in your daily walk with Jesus. God intended us to worship together in communion with Him and to raise each other up. I think that’s what I enjoyed most about my military experience. As young men, we definitely had our share of tough times, but we all went through it together. We shared, we loved, and we cried together. We worked, we lost, and we grew together.

That’s what the Christian life is as well. Not one of us should have to do life alone, and when Jesus is first in our life, we can all come together and live our lives for Him.
