Christmas Prayers

I’m sitting in my home office thinking about the blessings that God has bestowed on me just this year. It has been a rough year. With the death of my best friend in February, the storms that tore part of my roof off in April, and the many other disappointments and financial losses, I have plenty to be depressed about.

Then I look at the blessings. I have a loving family, a serving church, good health, and a God who loves me enough to die for me. That is what life is about, and that is what my book A Dose of Light in a World of Darkness is about. It’s about a loving God who will be with us through every aspect of our lives. He will be with us in the hard times and the good times, the sad times and the glad times. He is faithful, and His promises are true.

It is my prayer this Christmas that you realize how loved you are. If you know Jesus, then know you are chosen and highly favored. You are blessed beyond measure and worthy enough to die for. If you feel like you are struggling all alone, you are wrong. That is why I decided to publish my devotionals. I felt alone, and as I shared them, I realized there were many others who needed the encouragement that they brought to me. As I shared some life stories and personal thoughts, I found out that I am not alone and that we all struggle from time to time.

If you feel that same way, I encourage you to read my book. Christmas is a time of joy and peace. We celebrate the silence that baby Jesus broke when He came into this world and the chains that were broken by His work on the cross. He brings new life with His resurrection. He did this all because of His great love for you and me. It is my prayer that if you do not know Jesus, then you will come to know Him through the power of the Holy Spirit.
